The little green busybody Tippe is completely sure of herself—until she forgets why she even went into the hallway. Tippe is one of the Tyyppi glass sculpture series, small glass oddities that stare into emptiness and carry the emotions we usually hide. Fist-sized and slightly hungover, the Tyypit do not pretend to be perfect. Why should they?
The Tippe sculpture has a green coating that patinates and wears over the years, but the images beneath the glass never fade. They remind us that while the outer layer changes and shows the passage of time, the inner core remains intact.
Each Tyyppi is handcrafted using traditional glassblowing techniques. The handblown glass is recognized on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The sculptures are made in Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage site, giving these little moody creatures a rare, double UNESCO origin.
Each sculpture is signed on the base and named.
Tyyppi glass sculptures, including Tippe, are unique gifts and collectible treasures: little companions that remind us to care for what truly matters.
