The Type sculptures are small glass freaks that stare boldly into the void and carry the emotions we usually hide. Palm-sized, charmingly absurd and slightly hungover, the Type refuses to pretend to be perfect: why should they?
Each Type is created entirely by hand using traditional glassblowing techniques, which are included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. They are made in Suomenlinna , a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a rare double UNESCO origin.
Each sculpture is signed on the bottom, a silent declaration of existence: I am here. Will you stand it?
