Jäkäläkaveri feels like it has wandered out of a northern forest, the kind of place where stories grow on stones and silence has a pulse. Its crystal-glazed ceramic body blooms with textures that resemble frost, lichen, and mineral growth, as if the sculpture had been weathered by centuries of wind and winter light.
Handblown glass elements glow inside the form like a hidden ember. They shift with every angle, revealing flashes of warmth beneath the cool surface. This interplay, ancient roughness against living light, is the heart of Jäkäläkaveri.
The ceramic structure is hand-built in Lapinlahti, while the glass is shaped freehand in Suomenlinna and Riihimäki using traditional Finnish glassblowing techniques. Assembled by artist Sini Majuri, each Trojan Horse becomes a vessel of contrast: land and light, winter and fire, silence and presence.
A one-of-a-kind sculpture.
