Miltton Media day 2026
Me and Jouni Leino parked ourselves in a prime spot at the Miltton media day and presented the brand new Lähde table. The company was undeniably delicious: Kalevala Koru and Marimekko were launching their new joint collection right next door.
Miltton's media day was a new experience for me! I was invited to bring a few of my glass sculptures to the event by the lovely Leevi in the aftermath of Copenhagen Fashion Week. Jouni and I came up with the idea to bring our brand new Lähde table into this group! It was exciting to watch people's reactions. Usually, people approached the table with their mouths open and eyes sparkling with admiration, because it really is beautiful!

The influencer event was an interesting glimpse into a new hidden world. We slipped effortlessly into Pirkan's champagne pyramid, chatting about products from Panda and Paulig (you wouldn't believe how many bags of liquorice ended up coming with me). Pastis stood out for its incredible elegance, and the book presented at their event is currently my balcony reading.
The only regret at Miltton was that I didn't know about the karaoke car parked outside the venue. Maybe that's a good thing, because the guests might not yet have been ready to hear my carefully curated performance. The best part was spending the day talking about art and design. Talking so much that my cheeks hurt from smiling in the evening.
A group of my sculptures was also selected for display. The one that sparked the most discussion was the Vaahtispaahtis pony, which is my personal favourite among my ceramic and glass hybrid sculptures. It is important to bring unique works out from time to time, because they are so rarely seen in Finnish environments. My heavy graal works sometimes served as strength-training equipment, because lifting them made it easy to explain how challenging large-scale glass sculpture really is.

The journey to this day has been long! The Lähde project began a year and a half ago, and both designers brought their own miles to the table. The overall expression of Lähde, as well as the geometrically winding frame like in a Nokia Snake game, is drawn by Jouni. The pattern engraved into the glass is my design, and the mouth-blown neodymium glass sculpture rests at the top of the whole piece like a ceremonial hat that can be changed according to mood. Perhaps it communicates that in interiors it is perfectly welcome to change hats from time to time! The top sculpture works both as a vase and as an independent artwork. Every table is a work of art and a statement against a fast-paced era. Origin is an important value, and everything is entirely handmade using rare and disappearing craft skills. The glass top was produced at the beautiful Essis by Lasilinkki studio in Kuopio and the wooden part at Puulon. These can be acquired by contacting us. We now have three first completed pieces, each with its own personality.

Fingers crossed we get invited again to another equally fun event!
