Sini Majuri

Glass artist Sini Majuri, based in Suomenlinna, brings glass to arenas where it's an outsider; dancing ballet with robots and stealing dreams with artificial intelligence.

Majuri's work has been featured on the front page of The New York Times, and she has received numerous international awards.

Majuri combines glass with technology, AI, and robotics. Her multidisciplinary works explore humanity and comment on the state of society. Her glass sculptures have been showcased in over 90 exhibitions, including in New York, Tokyo, New Mexico, Toronto, and Venice.

I didn't grow up in a place where art was handed down. You would made things if you wanted them. Patched, hammered, painted, improvised. Knew the quality of something by holding it. That tactile memory carried me, years later, into the heat of the furnaces. Into the heart of a material that looks delicate but holds fire.
