The little golden mischief Tepi is part of the Tyyppi glass sculpture series. Its surface is gilded, glowing with warm metallic tones, but like all precious things, the gold is fragile and will show the marks of time. Beneath the shimmering exterior hides a feisty little Tepi, grinning and snarling, full of personality.
Each Tyyppi is handcrafted using traditional glassblowing techniques. The handblown glass is recognized on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The sculptures are made in Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage site, giving these little moody creatures a rare, double UNESCO origin.
Each sculpture is signed on the base and named.
Tyyppi glass sculptures, including Tepi, are unique gifts and collectible treasures: small companions that carry attitude and remind us that true character is found beneath the surface.
